Words Of Wisdom

The Rabbis rightly describe the word of God as an ocean with different depths, eddies and currents.

Each time we dive into His word, we can have a different experience of all the richness He wants us to discover - and Jewish Roots Study is no different.

Indeed, our experience is that it offers even more vibrant colour, dynamism and three-dimensional experience that once you've discovered it - you won't want to do it any other way. You may feel like you're a young sapling, or a wise old oak tree, but either way you have something to learn and something to contribute.

That very same Word of God flourishes and bears fruit, especially in words of wisdom and experience of life. This section is where you can find a collection of such wisdom and encouragement from various sources: wise sages, academics, intellectuals, artists, ordinary people and many more.

It is a repository of notes, quotes, anecdotes, musings, and dreams - and if you have any to add yourself - maybe your favourite Proverbs, verses, or saying from outside the Bible, feel free to let us know so we can add them to the site.

On wisdom, Proverbs 2: 1-6 says...

"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
